Who the terms apply to.
These terms apply to all business between Rafport ehf., kennitala 430491 1489 (hereafter Rafport), and customers on the website rafport.is. Rafport is a distributor of electrical equipment and sells to companies and professionals in business operations. The web store is not intended for consumers within the meaning of the Icelandic Act on Consumer Sales.
If a separate agreement or offer exists between Rafport and the customer, it prevails over these general terms to the extent they conflict.
Login with electronic ID.
Access to prices, stock and orders requires login with electronic ID through Kenni.is. Rafport uses no passwords. Access is tied to the company and the individuals the company has granted permission to.
A company's administrator is responsible for managing their own employees' access and for revoking access when an employee leaves the company. Whoever logs in with electronic ID is responsible for orders placed under their access.
Prices, VAT and price changes.
VAT is 24 percent (the general rate in Iceland). Prices are shown as follows:
- General website (not logged in): prices shown including VAT.
- Logged in business accounts (company portal and sales portal): the company's own agreed price, shown excluding VAT, as is customary in business to business trade.
- In the cart and at checkout: both the net price and VAT are itemised so the total amount is clear.
VAT is calculated on the backend from the registered net price and is never trusted from the user's browser. Prices can change without notice and the final price of an order is determined by the price at the time the order is confirmed. Rafport reserves the right to correct pricing errors and typographical mistakes.
An order is binding.
When an order is placed and confirmed with electronic ID, it is considered a binding agreement between the company and Rafport. Confirmation with electronic ID is equivalent to a signature within the meaning of Act no. 55/2019 on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions.
Rafport reserves the right to reject or limit an order, among other things if a product is unavailable, if misuse is suspected, or if the price was clearly wrong. Availability and stock levels can change until the order is processed.
Payment methods.
Payment is made by payment card or under agreed invoice terms, as applicable to each company. Card payments are processed in the secure payment environment of Rapyd Europe hf. Rafport never stores card details in its own systems. Strong customer authentication (3D Secure) is handled by the card issuer.
Invoice trading is subject to an approved credit limit. Default interest and collection costs are calculated on overdue claims in accordance with law and the terms of invoice trading.
Delivery nationwide.
An order can be collected from Rafport's warehouse in Kópavogur or delivered. Rafport offers delivery nationwide and delivery options appear at checkout along with the cost. Delivery time can change due to stock levels, special orders and carriers.
Risk in the goods passes to the buyer on delivery, or when the goods are handed to the carrier. The shipment should be inspected on receipt and any visible damage or shortage reported immediately.
Returns, defects and warranty.
Statutory law and the manufacturer's warranty govern the quality and defects of products. If a defect appears, Rafport should be notified without undue delay. Specially ordered products and products made to specification may not be returnable.
More detailed return rules (deadlines, condition of goods, refunds) will be published separately. Contact rafport@rafport.is about returns or warranty matters until those rules are published.
Invoices and retention.
Invoices are issued in Rafport's accounting system (Uniconta) and meet the requirements of Icelandic accounting law. Accounting records, including invoices and order history, are retained for seven years in accordance with the Accounting Act no. 145/1994.
Changes and jurisdiction.
Rafport may update these terms. The latest version applies at any given time and is published on this page with the date of the last update. Icelandic law governs the terms and the business relationship, and any dispute that cannot be resolved shall be brought before the District Court of Reykjanes (Héraðsdómur Reykjaness).
